GQ-401 is a helper-dependent adenoviral gene therapy vector expressing an undisclosed therapeutic protein, which is being developed for treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration. After intradiscal injection into the affected discs, GQ-401 enters the disc cells and turns them into factories for production of the therapeutic protein, which is expected to improve the disc condition and reduce discogenic pain.

GQ-401 is being developed for the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration and associated pain in the lumbar (lower) back region.
